This irresponsibility cost the lives of two kittens that were abandoned in a bag at our shelter. First, we lost the little boy. He was very weak, weighing less than 100 grams. Yesterday, we lost the little girl, who wanted to live so much! It's incredibly difficult to write this post! Not because the pain is eating away at my soul, but because these losses were CAUSED BY A HUMAN BEING! We don't know how the kittens ended up with those women. Did they find them in the yard, or did a domestic cat give birth and they took the kittens away from their mother? We don't know! But these kittens had life in them! Life that even doctors with years of experience in caring for newborns couldn't save... What are we doing, people? How much longer will this continue? How many more children have to die before we, together, teach society to THINK rationally? ⠀ Forgive us, little ones... Goodbye. We will fight to ensure that people never make such mistakes again. May your short, but very important lives, serve as a lesson to those who would repeat the "heroic act" of the women who abandoned you... # catsofmastodon # cats # rescue
